Vermentino has undergone a boom among Mediterranean wine producers, from those in Corsica to Clos Ste. Magdeleine in southern France's coastal region. This white grape variety thrives in the warm climates of these regions, producing wines that are fresh, vibrant, and full of character. It can give beautiful wines, with aromas of peach and Mediterranean scrub, grass, quince, apricot, and notes of wild flowers, sage, and rosemary.

The world of wine is ever-evolving, with new grape varieties coming into the spotlight as conditions and tastes change. First Maremma Toscana DOC Vermentino Superiore wine released. Mazzei's Belguardo estate spearheads the new Superiore category for Vermentino in Italy. This designation signifies a higher quality level for Vermentino wines, highlighting the dedication and expertise of the producers in crafting exceptional expressions of this grape variety.
